N & T Engitech, renowned for excelling in applying advanced technology to optimize edible oil plant manufacturing and EPC, has achieved a significant milestone in Tanzania by successfully installing a 200 TPD Continuous Solvent Extraction Plant, specializing in processing sunflower oil cake.

Watch the comprehensive video tour of the plant below and witness firsthand the efficiency and innovation that goes into every N & T Engitech installation.

This venture not only underscores our expertise in the field but also represents a leap forward in sunflower oil production technology. With a steadfast commitment to delivering top-notch solutions across various sectors, N&T Engitech continues to set industry standards, reinforcing its position as a leader in innovative and sustainable edible oil production solutions.

Design, manufacturing, and supply: a trio of excellence

Our commitment to excellence begins at the drawing board. We've meticulously designed, manufactured, and supplied the 200 TPD Continuous Solvent Extraction Plant, specifically catering to the processing needs of sunflower oil cake.

This plant is a testament to our dedication to quality and innovation, ensuring that every step, from initial design to final manufacturing, meets the highest standards of efficiency and reliability.

The journey of sunflower seeds: from crushing to oil extraction

Before reaching our state-of-the-art solvent extraction plant, the sunflower seeds undergo a crucial transformation. Sunflower seeds, which contain 35–42% oil, are processed into sunflower seed cake. This cake still retains 8%-14% oil and is subsequently prepared for further processing in our solvent extraction plant.

Innovative handling and processing

Upon arrival by trucks, the sunflower cake enters an advanced handling system. Our specialized cake breaker and cooler machines meticulously break and cool the cakes, preparing them for the next stage. The conveyance system then seamlessly transfers the processed cake to the solvent extraction plant.

The heart of the operation: solvent extraction plant

Our solvent extraction plant is where the magic happens. Equipped with cutting-edge machinery, the plant operates with precision and efficiency. Here's a breakdown of the key machines and their roles in the process:

Machine Purpose & Use
Extractor Extracts oil from the sunflower cake by washing it with a solvent, usually hexane, to dissolve the oil.
Desolventizing Remove the solvent from the oil and defatted cake. This step ensures the cake is safe for animal feed and the oil is safe for consumption.
Distillation Purifies the solvent-laden oil by heating and vaporizing. This step separates the solvent from the oil, allowing for solvent recovery and reuse.
Solvent Recovery Recovers and recycles the solvent from the extracted mixture. This unit ensures the solvent can be reused in the extractor, making the process more economical and environmentally friendly.

This meticulous process ensures not only the highest quality of sunflower oil but also emphasizes our commitment to sustainable and efficient manufacturing practices.

The final products: extracted oil and sunflower Meal/DOC

After the extraction process, the oil obtained is transferred to storage tanks and then sent to a refinery plant for purification. Simultaneously, the by-product, known as sunflower meal or De-oiled Cake (DOC), is gathered, adding value to the process.

This by-product serves various purposes, primarily as a high-protein feed ingredient in animal feed, marking an eco-friendly and efficient use of resources.

Conclusion

The successful installation of the 200 TPD Continuous Solvent Extraction Plant in Tanzania by N & T Engitech is more than just a milestone. It's a testament to our commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainable practices.

We are proud to contribute to the sunflower oil industry, providing solutions that not only meet the immediate needs of our clients but also contribute to a more efficient and sustainable future.
